Outdoor Music

Vail rocks out to every genre of music all summer long!

Our favorite FREE concert series is Hot Summer Nights at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater. Check the schedule online but you can set your calendar now that every Tuesday evening as sun starts to set you’ll find many Vail locals chill’n on the Ford Amphitheater lawn.

New this summer and also at Ford, is the Whistle Pig Vail music series that will bring well-known rock, pop, country and bluegrass icons to Vail for ticketed shows throughout the summer.

The Avon LIVE! Summer Concert Series returns in August offering four exceptional evenings of live music!  The Wednesday evening music series is quickly becoming tradition and features award winning national talent and provides the community an opportunity to come together and experience music, fresh and unique foods from food-trucks and enjoy a summer evening outside.

Athletic Competition

Come to compete or just watch in awe at the local athletes!

Just about every weekend in the valley you can sign up for an organized adventure. The summer kicks off with GoPro Mountain Games June 6 – 9, 2019.

The local trail running and cycling race series attract top athletes from around the country as well as weekend warriors who just want some fun exercise. The courses often take you on trails that you might now be able to find on your own which makes them worth every penny!

Get Cultured

Vail is well known to be truly an international destination.

The Vail community ensures that it is a welcome home to the broadest spectrum of performing arts and music. Established in 1989, the annual Vail Dance Festival features both performance and educational elements, firmly establishing the Vail Valley as one of the top summer dance destinations in the world.

Four of the world’s greatest orchestras make their summer home at Bravo! Vail. These internationally renowned musicians and acclaimed soloists perform powerful classical masterworks and sensational pops programs in a majestic Rocky Mountain setting. Plus, experience intimate chamber music concerts performed by world-renowned soloists throughout the Vail Valley.

Hiking

From a walk in the park to traversing a mountain range – Vail has hiking to challenge the best.

For a walk in the park you can cruise along the paved Vail Valley bike path at any spot between Breckenridge to Eagle, although it is especially pretty between Lionshead and Vail Village. Or take the gondola up at Lionshead and walk downhill from Eagle’s Next to Mid-Vail and take Gondola One back down to the village.

If you are looking for an Epic adventure – check out this Vail Daily article for ideas. With a little guidance from a local – you can take on the biggest challenge!

After the adventures – Deck Dining!

While Vail has so much to do, everyone needs to eat and there is no better outdoor dining scene than the sun drenched decks in Vail Village.

Los Amigos is great if you have little kids because it is next to the awesome Pirate Ship Park! You also can’t go wrong with Pepi’s, Up the Creek, Mountain Standard, Bully Ranch, La Bottega, Vail Chop House and the list goes on!
