PICNIC ON SHRINE PASS

Any local will tell you Shrine Pass is the ‘go to’ hike to show off the best of Vail to visitors. The hike itself is relatively easy and the reward of a 360-degree view from the top is spectacular. Kids and grandma can make it to the top. Bring a picnic and stay a while! Oh – and did we mention the fields and fields of wildflowers?

ADVENTURE RIDGE

A vacation in Vail would not be complete without a ride up the gondola to Eagle’s Nest and Adventure Ridge. Families can enjoy zipline, ropes course, mountain coaster and a 36-foot climbing wall. Kids under 12 ride the gondola free with an adult purchase.

CANOE ON PINEY LAKE

Drive about 30 minutes into the mountains behind Simba Run to reach the stunning Piney River Ranch. In addition to horseback riding, fly-fishing and hiking, you can explore the late by canoe or SUP. You might get lucky and see the residence moose!

RAFTING

Choose from numerous guided raft trips on many wild rivers nestled deep in the rugged Rocky Mountains, such as the Arkansas, Eagle, Colorado, and more. No matter what river you decide to raft, what class rapids you ride, or how long your trip, the sights, sounds, smells, and emotions from that experience will cling to your memory forever.

WEEKLY SUMMER RODEO

Dust off your cowboy boots! The Beaver Creek Rodeo features the full line up of classic rodeo events – Bronco Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and of course, Bull Riding! Get in on the rodeo action by signing up for the Calf Scramble, Mutton Bustin’ or Burro Racing. Bring the whole family for pony rides, face painting, mechanical bull rides, and a wide range of food options.
