The annual Vail Rotary Duck Race is held Vail Village on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

Rotarians sell sponsorships and “duck adoption papers” during the weeks prior to the race. Over 16,000 yellow rubber ducks are dumped into Gore Creek near the Covered Bridge and race down the river to the finish underneath the International Bridge.

Prizes are given to those holding the adoption papers for the winning racers. This has become a hugely popular event that raises over $50,000 for the club.
