2013 marks the 25th Anniversary of one of the most beloved events of the Vail Valley summer season.

The Vail International Dance Festival, born 25 years ago as a summer residency of the world’s most celebrated dance companies, has grown in to a nationally and internationally recognized vehicle for dance professionals to forge new ground and premiere new and interesting works of dance in the beautiful setting of Vail, CO.

With Colorado wildflowers and lush blooming perennial gardens as the backdrop for the stage, renowned dancers of various genres come to the Vail Valley to grace the Gerald Ford Amphitheater with their finest work. Artists from the Pacific Northwest Ballet, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet and Moscow Ballet, as well as top modern dance, hip hop and ballroom soloists – including pop culture phenomenon ‘Lil Buck Riley – join together for this 2 week Festival from July 28 through August 11, 2013.

Several special events will take place to celebrate VIDF’s 25th anniversary in style, including the July 31 UpClose: Footwork 25th Anniversary Benefit Performance at the Vilar center, and an Opening Night celebration on July 28. Both reserved seating and lawn tickets are available for performances, and this is a favorite spot for locals and vacationers to come together for a relaxing, beautiful night under the Vail summer sky.
